The Next Chapter with Shelagh Rogers

To my abject amazement, Shelagh Rogers has interviewed me for her CBC Radio One program, The Next Chapter. My show will air on Monday, 17 February at 1:00pm MST, and will be rebroadcast on Saturday the 22nd. We talked about The Last Temptation of Bond, my influences, my writing process, my favourite Bond(s), and the terrible weather I drove through to arrive on time for the interview.

The episode will be archived
here as soon as it has aired. Photo of Shelagh Rogers © CBC.

The Canadian Literature Centre Brown Bag Reading Series

Pasted Graphic

I’ll be reading from The Last Temptation of Bond at the Canadian Literature Centre’s Brown Bag Reader Series on the UofA Campus on Wednesday, the 22nd of January at noon in the Student Lounge, Arts and Convocation Hall. It’s free and fun, so I’m told. Come check me out and ask me all your most pressing questions about James Bond. I don’t know everything, but I do know quite a bit.

CBC Radio Calgary Podcast

Listen to my interview with the fabulous Russell Bowers on Daybreak Alberta on CBC Radio Calgary. We did the interview back in September, but it replays frequently. If you’d like to listen to it, it’s on my Soundcloud here.

We talk about my new book,
The Last Temptation of Bond (available in print and ebook formats here), the Bond legacy, and who we’d like to see play James Bond when they finally consider a woman.

Take a listen. We have a lot of fun.

Prairie Fire's Birk Sproxton Tribute Issue

I was delighted to be invited to contribute to and appear at the launch of the special Birk Sproxton Tribute Issue of Prairie Fire in Winnipeg on the 15th of November. I was proud to be among so many colleagues and friends, all of us with a special connection to Birk, who died in 2007.

Birk was my mentor, teacher, and friend for 15 years, and I was honoured to be asked to contribute to this long-awaited issue.
